Caitlin's Campaign

Dearest Caitlin

A small boy was walking along the beach at low tide, where countless hundreds star fish, having been washed up, were stranded and doomed to perish.  A man watched as the boy picked up individual creatures and took them back into the water.  "I can see you're being very kind" said the watching man, "But there are too many of them; it can't possibly make any difference".  Returning from the water's edge, the boy said, "It will for that one."

This was a quote written on a speech and language booklet I was given to read when my children were younger.  I remember thinking how appropriate it was regarding children with speech and language problems.

It also makes me think how it is also appropriate regarding GDL.  Caitlin would now be twenty two years old.  Many bereaved families, many years before Caitlin was killed, have been asking for GDL to be made law in this country.  Many MP's are very reluctant to change the law, but if they did and it saved just one life, "It would make a difference for that one."

Love always, Nicola
